Dear Mr. kase,
establishments,
I am much indebted to you for your confi-
dential letter of the 2nd of June, on the subject
of the extension of the control of the Maritime
Customs Administration over certain Native Custome
ishments, in which you were good enough to
forward copies of circulars, giving a list of the
Hative Customs stations and sub-stations you have
taken over, and a report by ur. Hayley Bell of his tour of investigation along the coast between 3watow
and Fooɑhow.
2. I have read these documents with very great
interest and I share your view that this movement is important as indicating possible new channels of
development for the trade in foreign goods.

Yours sincerely,
(Sgd.)
